lelio luttazzi was a multifaceted artist, a jazz lover (whose favourite pianist was erroll garner) who left his mark as a pianist, musician, conductor and composer. during a career spanning more than 50 years, he established himself as a master of several disciplines such as music, literature and cinema. “i miei stati d’animo” (my feelings) is one of his greatest records, where you’ll find all his irony and wittiness, his versatility and priceless talent. a beautiful easy listening jazz work, completely instrumental and way ahead of the time it was released (1971).

matrixxman has been a dekmantel regular for a couple of years now. the san francisco producer continues to impress with a new triptych for dekmantel records. over the course of three eps (rhythm, acid, polyphony), charles mccloud duff displays his versatile and original take on house and techno. the concept of the triptych is to explore the range within the confines of a particular limitation. this second ep sector ii: acid- shows an exercise in acid. similarly, the tb-303 may conjure certain knee-jerk reactions at a glance, but acid has the potential to cover a broader palette of emotion than one might initially expect. sector ii holds three squirming 303 sequences and the classic rhythmic drum programming of arrival, bad acid and i am matrix. rites on the other hand is more subtle and fluent, swinging with hazy acid flourishes and dynamic syncopation.

after few releases featuring sübaka with remixes by steve bicknel (uk) and sean deason (usa), module records maked a ten years break. so we are very proud to introduce klash point guys who produced this persistence ep for this labels comeback.they are two french producers who combine fiery energy and the wisdom of experience. like a family affair! all in all, name check these lads out for more future aural excursions. on this 12inch, this is minimal electronic techno at its best, deep and dubby with a solid straight groove. then, we are sure that new ep will not disappointed you, without a doubt!

tresor’s newest release features bnjmn on body reflections pt. 1. the four track ep captures a uniquely subdued mood that resides at the nexus of ambient dance music, and that integrates seamlessly with tresor’s penchant for restrained and dub-inflected techno. each track on the ep introduces symmetry and rhythm in the form of organic percussion. “overskies- and “enceladus- are more lethargic and ethereal, each blanketed with discordant melodies and arcing synth lines. -hadal zone- is more dance-oriented - here, a sophisticated interplay of percussive elements loop over plaintive vocals and soft harmonies. “syzygy- then brings the ep to a techno-focused close with driving kicks, oscillating synths, and repeating minor chords. body reflections pt. 1 is deeply illustrative of bnjmn’s affinity for creating nuanced and delicately balanced layers, and a culmination of his vast experience.

it s no secret that idle hands is a label built on a foundation of dub. from the earliest releases by pev, kowton and szare through to more recent output from o$vmv$m and christian jay, the influence of bristol s soundsystem heritage looms large in the myriad electronic music threads the label encompasses. sometimes this influence is explicit, other times implied, but the principles of sub heavy, spacious music for both body and mind guide the stylistic arc of the label as a direct result of the label s long time immersion in roots and dub culture.

stepping up for its landmark tenth release is label honcho juan sanchez, who drops four slices of heavy techno funk. over the course of nine releases, format records have established itself as a very credible source for quality techno. its tenth release again perfectly captures that frisky format sound.
first up is serpent, a mid-tempo and bass-laden belter that’s followed by the darker, minimal-tinged qualia. a different place merges detroit-esque elements with tones of european techno, after which things close with no-beatsall-fx stubborn synth.
the tenth format release is a perfect snapshot of the label’s signature sound, while paving the way for many more good things to come.
